Celebrating Rare Crafts
Young Craft Makers: Meet Luka Vušurović
Maille, often called chainmail, is a craft dating back to antiquity, created by forming wire into rings and assembling them into a protective pattern. Luka Vušurović, a history enthusiast from Montenegro, became captivated by this ancient art and embarked on a three-year journey to recreate a 13th-century suit of maille armour. Despite being the only maille maker in Montenegro, Luka hopes to revive interest in the craft through workshops and lectures, aiming to inspire others to connect with history through hands-on experiences.
